This article touches the soul and let's the reader know that homelessness can happen to anyone of us.   It happens in ways that we never expect that may be through health the economy or no fault of our own.

Pam Gorro was a caretaker and had no family to help her when tragedy happened at her place of employment and the increasing job stress, worsening depression, and the unexpected death of the person she provided care for,  sadly enough Gorro found herself living in the streets, without any family to fall back on. She didn't know what to do.   Going from shelter to shelter throughout Chicago and eventually Deborah's Place Chicago's largest provider of supportive housing for women.

Pam's story is an inspiration that through not giving up and moving forward all things are possible.

In the State of Illinois, according to the National Low Income Housing Coalition, the average cost of a two-bedroom apartment is $843, which requires an hourly wage of $16.78 to affordably sustain. Someone working at minimum wage would need two full-time jobs to afford this amount and at the present time it's hard enough to feed and house your own family.

Pam Gorro, you did it and congragulations to you!  You are an inspiration to all the homeless women who are all alone in a new city and tragedy hits in all directions and didn't give up.   I pray this article is as inspiring to others  as it was for me both men, women and children.

Blog 1 - Post 1 entry 2: Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is working to heal the wounds of the homeless in more ways than one; food, shelter, education and health services are provided to the growing number of this population. Economics is a silent factor and  is very limited to all those in need both young and old.

With this booming population and the limited resources at hand to beat down this beast of Homelessness more and more people, rich, middle class and lower income are falling into this gated population not only in the United States; but all over the world, sadly enough.

Quake's Victims: Rich and Homeless, Poor and Homeless

I found this article interesting, because of how the population of people became united, because of the natural devastation that caused the loss of lives, homes and shortage of other supplies thatm are direly needed for the human existence.   I can feel the need and quality of care that is shared by all the victims and the issue is no longer the rich or the poor, but the need to survive and help one another.

The thought of having to go through such a natural atrocity to bring people together; children, elderly and adults who would otherwise die of starvation, homelessness or even health.  Does there always have to be a tragedy, to where we can help one another any place in this world?

Homelessness has become a reality to us all over the world, and sadly enough it is growing faster than the speed of light .   In Chicago alone Mayor Richard J. Daley made a claim, that in the city there were only 24 homeless people downtown? or the city for that matter.   The economic cloud that points to recession in a mode of volatility has no mercy on those it imposes its self upon, once a victim of it's wrath some may survive and others may not.  Homelessness describes the condition of people without a regular dwelling. People who are homeless are most often unable to acquire and maintain regular, safe, secure, and adequate housing, or lack "fixed, regular, and adequate night-time residence."[1] The legal definition of "homeless" varies from country to country, or among different entities or institutions in the same country or region.

Homelessness does not discriminate it affects every living thing animals, children, adults and the disabled, when will it stop?
